The Sarah has been 103 days from Plymouth, and has now on board 271 immigrants, consisting of 56 married men, 53 married females, 49 single women, 52 single men, 27 male children, from one to fourteen years of age, 35 female children of corresponding ages and 10 infants. On the 9th September, twelve days after leaving Plymouth, cholera made its appearance on board, and continued until the 11th October, during which time there were twenty three cases, thirteen of which terminated fatally, consisting of seven adults and six children; eleven other deaths took place said to be from infantile disease.

On Thursday fifty two immigrants ex Sarah arrived in Maitland per Steamer, comprising eleven married couples, eight young men and five young women, two boys between ten and fourteen years old, and fifteen younger children. Of these there had been engaged up to noon yesterday two married men, one as a millwright, at 10s per week and extra rations, and one with his wife as domestic servants at 24 pounds per year, with board and lodging; and three young men, one as general servant at 16 pounds per year, one as bullock driver age 7s per week, and one as farm labourer at 15 pounds per year, all having rations.
