The prisoner is one of the night stock men; for two or three mornings past they have been neglected to be brought to their work at the usual time. On Friday morning last two of them were not brought at all by which means a cart was idle the whole day. These two were yoked when they went out to pasture on Thursday evening and on Saturday they were brought back in the same state; On Friday he was an hour beyond the limited time of bringing in the bullocks besides losing the two and on Saturday a half an hour; He cannot attend properly to the bullocks at night as I see him frequently at work in the town for individuals during the day instead of taking his rest. The prisoner states in his defence that the bullocks and so wild there is no certainty where to find them when the day breaks. Sentenced to 25 lashes
