Patrick Grady, prisoner of the Crown being brought before the court makes the voluntary declaration as follows: Some time since I appeared before Robert Scott Esq. at Patrick Plains and declared on oath that I was accessary to a robbery on Mr. Blaxland s cart and that the robbery was actually committed by James Stanforth who was at the time in the service of Mr. Chilcott. I do now confess that I was instigated to this accusation by Martin Herring and I do further confess and declare that the accusation made by me against James Stanforth was and is totally devoid of truth. The Court thereupon direct that James Stanforth who is now in custody for further examination on the accusation, so preferred against him be forthwith discharged. The court further sentence the said Patrick Grady to be transported to a penal settlement for and during the remainder of his original sentence
