PATRICK KAY HAYDON, Grocer and Ironmonger, was born in Kilkenny, Ireland, in 1835, where he received his education and business training. Arriving in the colony in 1854, our subject passed seven years in Sydney, employed in mercantile positions. Twenty-seven years ago he came to Morpeth as manager of a business, and in 1867 commenced for himself as grocer and ironmonger, which lie still carries on. Mr. Haydon was elected an alderman of Morpeth fifteen years back, and has continuously held that office, having been auditor some years previously. He has been four times elected mayor, and now holds that office. He has been a member of the committee of the school-of-arts for many years, and last year was its president. Mr. Haydon is a justice of the peace. He was married at East Maitland in 1861, and has nine children living.
