Details: Presentation.-A number of the friends of the Rev. John Cleaver, Wesleyan minister, from Dungog, Williams and Allyn Rivers, assembled in the Bandon Grove chapel, on Tuesday, 26th December, and partook of a cup of tea, after which Mr. Cornish, sen., was voted to the chair ; and after a few brief remarks on the occasion of their present meeting, and the improvement in the moral and spiritual welfare of the people within the last few years, he called on Mr. Thos. Trotter to read the address to Mr. Cleaver, and present the testimonial-namely, a purse containing 60 guineas, and a tea service. The rev. gentleman replied, and thanked them for the kindness manifested, and was much affected by the sympathy of the meeting towards him. Three other addresses were delivered to the meeting, and the chairman stated that the best way they could pursue would be for them to unite together, and retain Mr. C. in his present position ; but the rev. gentleman declined to state what course he would pursue. The meeting was concluded by singing and prayer.
