Details: An inquest was held at the Tomago Inn on the body of Hugh Gordon, aged 15, younger son of Mr. Robert Gordon of that place. From the evidence, a boy named Hamer went to fell a tree near the house. On their hearing the cracking of the tree they ran away however a bough caught the unfortunate youth on the back of the nect fracturing the two lower cervical vertebrae. He was removed to his home and attended by Dr. Fyffe of Raymond Terrace. He died 12 hours later. Verdict - accidental death
