Robert Henderson was entered in the Register of St. Johns Parramatta as the son of Thomas and Margaret Anderson (Henderson), born June 25, baptised July 9, 196. Thomas and Margaret Henderson both came on the Sugar Cane in 1793 from Ireland. Robert Henderson married Catherine Geary at St. John’s, Parramatta, on 4 March 1817. He owned a farm of 80 acres at Pittwater and a ticket of occupation for another 100 acres. In 1824 he moved from Pittwater to Brisbane Water and was appointed District Constable. He settled on the selection which he called Veteran Hall and by a census of 1829 had cleared and cultivated 30 acres and employed nine free men and seven assigned servants. He owned sixty head of cattle. The 100 acres grant at Veteran Hall was originally promised to Patrick Geary whose daughter, Catherine, married Robert Henderson. Patrick Geary had been a private in the NSW Corp. Catherine Henderson nee Geary died at Sussex St. Sydney on 29 December 1868. Robert Henderson died on 11 November 1869 aged 73
