Details: ROBERT GALL, Farmer and Grazier, was born in Scotland in 1838, and came to Sydney with his wife in 1857, settling in the Shoalhaven district. He lived there for about two years, when the devastating flood of 1860 caused the loss of all he possessed. He settled in this district and was employed as storekeeper and general manager at Dartbrook, where he lived for ten years, and then purchased 190 acres of his present property. He afterwards bought two other blocks, amounting to 533 acres, making a total of 723 acres of splendid property. He farms about fifty or sixty acres, growing principally wheat and hay, and devotes the remainder to sheep and cattle grazing. He keeps five to six hundred sheep, a dozen head of cattle, and turns out about 30cwt. of wool, which is always of a very superior quality. He keeps merino sheep for wool but crosses them with the Lincoln for the lamb market. Mr. Gall is the father of four sons and three daughters, and is a member of the Presbyterian Church
