Details: John Patterson assigned servant to R.C.Dillon. Charged with neglect of duty and general misconduct....Mr. Dillon states....I have frequent cause of complaint against the prisoner or absenting himself from my house without leave at very unseasonable hours and resorting to the house of Elizabeth Robinson who resides at the back of me premises. I have forbid him ever to go there. A few evenings since I gave him permission to be absent from my premises for a couple of hours but on condition that he did not go to Robinsons. I however went there in the course of the evening having heard that he was there, and I accordingly found him when he told me nothing should prevent his going there whenever he felt inclined. The prisoner in his defence stated I had leave to go. Sentenced to 50 lashes and to be returned to his master
