Details: WEAKLEY, WILLIAMS, AND WEAKLEY, Butchers, Nelson-street.-Robert Weakley was born in Hexham in 1843, and until 1870 continued to reside in that district. He has at various times done business in the great northern districts in dealing and farming, and for four and a half years worked as a journeyman butcher on the Clarence River. In 1873 he visited Minmi, established a butchery in company with his brother-in-law, and was fairly successful for about three years, when he sold out and took over the sole control of a Wallsend establishment, which had been started at about the same time as the one beforementioned. He is a partner in two dairy and grazing farms, which are managed by his partners at Hexham and Woodford. He is a member of the Lord Carrington Lodge of Freemasons, E.C., and of the Wesleyan Church-is a lay preacher and superintendent of the Sunday-school-and is married, having one son and two daughters.
