On 18 May 1839 he was appointed Surgeon to H.M.S. Revenge at Lisbon. H.M.S. Revenge was built at Chatham in 1805, 1954 tons; 445 officers and men, 60 boys and 150 marines served on board. W. Waldegrave (a) was Captain and Sacket HOpe Commander. Henry Baker and Henry J. Domville served as Assistant Surgeons 
He was employed as Surgeon Superintendent on three convict ship voyages to Australia:
to New South Wales in 1830
Duchess of Northumberland to Van Diemen's Land in 1843
Equestrian to Van Diemen's Land in 1844.
He was listed in the Medical Register
