Details: ABRAHAM CLARK, Butcher, who was born in London in 1835, and came to Victoria in 1854, lived eight years on the Sandhurst diggings, and then for eighteen months on those of the Lachlan. In 1864 he left there purposing to go to the Peak Downs but owing to the floods settled at Muswellbrook and commenced business on the site of his present premises. Here he has since built a large and commodious shop and dwelling house, and does the principal butchering business in Muswellbrook, killing about seven head of cattle and twenty-five sheep, and buying most of his stock in the district. He is widely known and esteemed as an energetic business man and an honest and upright citizen. Mr. Clark is the owner of considerable property in Muswellbrook and is the father of eight sons and three daughters
