Details: JOHN CAMERON, Royal Villa, is a native of New South Wales, and was born at Hexham, on the Hunter, in 1844. He was educated at St. John s Denominational School, Newcastle, and on leaving school was apprenticed to the blacksmithing. He completed his time and came to Oriel Station, seventy miles west of Narrabri, where he remained for fourteen years. At the expiration of that period he removed to Moree and purchased the Royal Hotel, which he conducted until 1887, when he retired from active business. He was married on the 2nd September, 1868, and has two sons
