I asked him if he was a free man. He said you know who I am. I asked him for his pass. He said he had left it in Hewson s public house. I went to enquire and found that he had not done so. He wished me to go to the gaoler to see who he was. I put him in the watch house. When I got him within a few yards of the watch house he gave me his pass. Guilty.
