Details: R. BRYANT, Saddle and Harness Maker, Hunter-street, was born in 1847 in West Maitland, where he was educated and taught his trade. In 1870 he commenced on his own behalf, but in a small way, in his present premises. In 1885 he added to an extensive business that of a tanner and currier at Tighe s Hill, where he had erected the buildings necessary for carrying on the works. His business is now the largest of its kind in the Newcastle district, besides being the oldest, and employs over thirty hands. The works at Tighe s Hill cover an acre of ground. Mr. Bryant does a large wholesale trade, supplying many of the stores in the great northern district
