Details: Joseph Bull found guilty of keeping a disorderly house at West Maitland. Witnesses George Browning, Mary Ann Simpson, William Simpson, Constable Scully and William Hawkett. From the evidence which was mostly unfit for publication, it was proved that the house kept by the prisoner was situated between Durham and High streets and was the resort of the worst characters of the town. For the defence the prisoner called Isabella Sage and Barbara Mann, step daughter to the defendant, who deposed that they had never seen anything wrong at the house
