Details: ROSEMOUNT VINEYARD, W. L. C. and E. C. Brecht proprietors, is situated on the Goulburn-a tributary of the Hunter River-and was founded by Carl Brecht, the father of the present proprietors, in 1862. It comprises about thirty-five acres of vines, all of which are in full bearing. The class of wines produced - red and white - are of a full-bodied character, and have taken prizes at all the intercolonial exhibitions, as well as at the Indian and Colonial, Paris, Bordeaux (gold medal), Philadelphia, Calcutta, and Amsterdam exhibitions. The firm do not export largely, as the Australian markets absorb all they produce. Messrs. Brecht make extensive purchases from the local vignerons and employ on an average fifteen hands. Mr. W. L. C. Brecht is a native of Germany, is master of the local Masonic Lodge, and is married, with a family of one child. His brother is a native of Scone, New South Wales
