Details: A chapter of accidents on May 30th, the day before the Queen of England ship left, three accidents occurred in connection with her. Dennis Bray, residing in the Lake Macquarie road was stepping into a boat and slipped, breaking his leg above the ankle. The second accident to William Forbes, formerly assistant pilot at Newcastle, fell down an open hatchway and sustained a severe injury at the back of his neck and breaking his collar bone. The third case of Richard Hovendon a waterman was walking aft from the galley and fell down the same hatchway and broke his arm in addition to having his nose nearly torn off
