Details: JOSEPH PEARSON, Merchant Tailor, was born in Lancashire, England, in 1837, and there learned his business. He came to Queensland in 1863, and afterwards to Sydney, where he went into business as a tailor and outfitter. In 1878 he settled in Newcastle, and commenced in Hunter-street his present business, which is almost the oldest of its kind in the city, and gives constant employment to about twelve hands. Mr. Pearson is much respected as a faithful and efficient master tradesman. In 1862 he married in England, and is now the father of five sons and two daughters. He is a vigorous patron of athletic sports, and a lover of cricket. His family are members of the Church of England
