Details: WILLIAM FOX PARKER, Police Magistrate, was born in November, 1833, in the County Down, Ireland, and came to Sydney in 1844. He received his education at the Maitland Grammar School under David Patterson, B.A., and afterwards under Mr. Farrell, formerly mathematical teacher at Kings School. After engaging for ten years in commercial pursuits, he in 1862 entered the Civil Service as C.P.S. at Forbes, and later on at Grenfell. In 1878 he was appointed police magistrate at Merriwa, and five years afterwards to a similar position at Scone, which office he still retains.
