Details: THE NEWCASTLE ICE AND CORDIAL WORKS, Blane-street, were established in 188I by the late Mr. J. C. Palmer, and are the only ice factories in Newcastle and the great northern districts. In 1887 Mr. R. Nilson was appointed manager, and Messrs. Roberts and Co. purchased the mineral water and cordial works, which were carried on in Union-street, Wickham. They have a very large connection, supplying all the principal hotels in the city and suburbs. The ice works are centrally situated near the Government railway workshops, and contain all the necessary plant, etc., for storage, and a much more extended business
