Details: In the Banco Court on Wednesday afternoon, before the Chief-Justice and juries of four two ejectment suits were decided. The plaintiffs in each case were James and Susannah Henderson, of St. Kilda; near Melbourne, in Victoria. The defendants were two farmers named respectively Fahey and Barnes. The plaintiffs sought to recover possession of two blocks of land was in November, 1838, conveyed by Crown grant to George Adam Oliver, who in February, 1840, devised it to his widow, Susannah Oliver, for her life. Mrs. Oliver afterwards married the plaintiff, James Henderson. Defendants paid rent to plaintiffs agent, and recently disputed plaintiffs title. In the case against Fahey, the jury, without leaving the box, found for the plaintiff. In Barnes s case, after the plaintiffs case was closed, Barnes consented to a verdict being entered for the plaintiff. Mr. Darley, by Rollin and Salter, for plaintiffs. Mr. Simpson, by Mr. Readett, of Newcastle, for defendants. Plaintiffs proved that the land was in November, 1838, conveyed by Crown grant to George Adam Oliver, who in February 1840 devised it to his widow Susannah Oliver for her life. Mrs. Oliver afterwards married the plaintiff James Henderson. Defendants paid rent to plaintiffs agent and recently disputed plaintiffs title.
