Details: James Moor, in government service, charged with repeatedly refusing work and insolence to the overseer. The Principal Superintendent states...this morning on my ordering the prisoner to the Pump at the Mines, he told me he would not go and said I might get him punished, he did not care for it. This was not the first time he has told me so. None of the overseers can get him to work. There is a general complaint against him on the part of the overseers for refractory conduct and insolent language. He sets them all at defiance. The prisoner neither denies the charge nor makes any defence. Sentenced to 50 lashes
