Details: Walter Morris, prisoner for 7 years, Jeremiah Howghan, for 7 years, and Hannah Kirby for life, appeared before the Bench, charged by a publican on the Rocks with having paid a visit to his house, at a late hour hist night, and called for, and received a pint of rum, which they drank, with the exception of Howghan, who was not proved to have par- taken of the liquor; and when the landlord, in due course, demanded payment, it appeared that the parties were destitute of the means of satisfying his claim; he, therefore, gave them into charge of a constable, who conducted them to the watch- house, where, after being safely deposited for the night, a woman went to the landlord, and paid for the rum, the source of the whole mischief; sentenced Morrison to the trend-mill for 14 days, Howghan for 7 days, and HannahKirby to the factory for 6 months.

Complaint may fairly be attributed to the wet state of the prison of late. Bor the bleeding well and felt immediate relief but fained when the bandage was slackened. Has still some pain remaining. Cough easier. Recovered 16 February 1823
