Details: DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT. IT would seem that death has of late been very busy among the old identities in Maitland. Yesterday morning at an early hour Mr Daniel Cleary died at his farm, Oakhampton, at the great age of 90 years. Of late the hardy old farmer had been ailing, and his demise was therefore fully anticipated. He leaves a large family of grown up sons and daughters, some of whom live in other colonies. The deceased, whose remains will be interred this afternoon, was one of those hardy pioneers who settled very many years ago on the Hunter, and whose ranks are now becoming sadly thinned.

Whenever I speak to him, he has always some saucy answer to make; He is not only troublesome himself, but excites the rest of the gang to set my authority at defiance.
