Details: J. P. CLARKE, Builder and Contractor, was born in Singleton in 1868, and was educated and taught his trade in his native place. He settled in Quirindi about the year 1884, and at once commenced business as a builder and contractor. Since that time he has erected some of the principal buildings in the town, amongst others the Court House, Post Office, Church of England, and many private residences. He is a considerable employer of labour, frequently having a dozen men working for him. Mr. Clarke was married in 1885 to the daughter of Mr. Abbot of Quirindi, and has a son and daughter. He is a member of the Church of England, the M.U.I.O.O.F., and is much respected as a business man and faithful contractor throughout the district , in the welfare of which he takes great interest
