Details: In a corner of old Christ Church Cemetery at Newcastle there is a grave covered with a maze of weeds, wild vines and lantana bush — pushing aside the thick undergrowth you can get a glimpse of an old head stone which has fallen flat on the ground — and on it you will read the name: 'Archibald Clunes Innes Esq.' This is the last resting . place of the once famous 'dashing Major,'' who almost a century back was one of the social lions of Sydney, and whose establishment was at Lake Innes, Port Macquarie, was kept up with the splendour and extravagance of an Eastern potentate...........................
