Details: THOMAS JOSEPH McDONALD, Alma Hotel, High-street, was born in Maitland in 1861, and has resided in the district ever since, following various vocations till in 1886 he took the house he now keeps. This is an old-established hotel of three stories: the ground floor having dining-room, bar, sitting-rooms, etc., and the upper floor about a dozen commodious, airy, and well lighted bedrooms ; while in the rear are spacious stables, loose boxes, buggy .house, and all needful out-houses to supply the hotel requirements. Adjoining the premises is a horse paddock of one and a half acres. Mr. McDonald was married in September 1885, He has been a member of the A.O.F. for the past five years, and of the Holy Family of the Roman Catholic Church since the founding of its local branch. Mr. McDonald passed twenty-one years of his life with Mr. J. E. Wolfs of Springfield, performing various duties
