Convict Ship Surgeon-Superintendent


Henry Baker was employed as Surgeon Superintendent on the convict ship Stratheden to VDL in 1845. The Stratheden departed London on 3 August 1845 and arrived in Van Diemen's Land on 25 December 1845.

In 1846 he was appointed Surgeon Superintendent to the Thomas Arbuthnot[1]. The Thomas Arbuthnot departed Portland on 10 January 1847 and arrived in Victoria on 4 May 1847 with 288 male Exiles.
