The death occurred yesterday at Kincumber of a very old Newcastle identity in the person of Mr. John Henderson. The deceased, who was 94 years of age, was well known in the earlier days of Newcastle, when he used to own sailing vessels that traded between this port, New Zealand and New Caledonia, and also carried on business in a large way as a merchant. He retired from business more than twenty years ago and latterly had been living on a farm that he owned at Kincumber. He is survived by two sons and four daughters.
