Sparke, John Elliott, James Cornish - Sir, The police magistrate of Newcastle having communicated to us the decision which the Governor has come to against the establishing of a lockup in the neighbourhood we now respectfully beg leave to request his Excellency may be pleased to grant the other part of our memorial, namely that a magistrate may be directed to hold a court here once a fortnight for the summary trial of our convict population and to allow the residence of one constable for whose habitation and for the holding of the court a suitable accommodation will be gratuitously provided by us
