Details: A resident of Warkworth for 86 years, Mr. William Watts died at his home Brentwood. He was born at Glendon near Singleton and taken to Warkworth when 9 days old. In early life he was a carrier on the roads between Morpeth and Moree. He commended as an orchardist in 1870s growing stone fruits and table grapes with great success. He also followed grazing pursuits. His wife, aged 84 survived him and also five sons and seven daughters. Mr. Watts was a man of splendid physique and a member of a family noted for longevity. One brother, aged 90 died two years ago and two living are 84 and 79 years old
