Details: Death of an Old Resident. Early on Monday morning last, one of the oldest residents of this district passed quietly from life to eternity after a lingering illness of some duration. We allude to the death of Mrs. Henry Styles, who was born at Limerick, Ireland, in 1806, and was consequently 69 years of age when she died. Mrs. Styles came to this colony in 1832, and nearly ever since has resided with her husband at the Swamps, near Wallsend,—having been married to him for the long period of 43 years Mr. Styles is himself 75 years of age, and tells us that his experience of married life is cheerful indeed, and the poor old man regrets the loss of his better half most keenly. He refuses to be comforted, and looks forward to the time when he shall join his partner, in that place where separation is unknown.—The funeral took place on Tuesday last, when a great number of the friends of the deceased followed the cortege to Newcastle, where her remains were interred in the Roman Catholic cemetery, the last solemn rites being performed by the Rev. Jas. Ryan, of Lambton.
