Details: Death of an Old Resident. It will be heard with deep regret by the wide circle of friends of the late Mrs. Helen Gilfillan, that she died at an early hour yesterday (Sunday) morning. Before daybreak we heard the mournful tones of the church bell, announcing to us that this old and much respected resident had ceased to exist. Her career ended at eighty-one years. The old lady was mother-in-law to Mr. Porteus, who is manager to the Messrs. Campbell of this town. Miss Gilfillan may be assured of the respectful sympathy of all the residents of this district.
