Details: When the late Major Charles Bolton retired the control of the local Customs work devolved upon Mr. T.B. Corbett who was appointed sub collector. He died in 1870 and was buried in the churchyard, where a marble slab was erected bearing the simple inscription - Thomas Barwick Corbett died February 11 1870, aged 55
