Arrival of the ship Lord Melville, Captain Wetherall, from England having departed on 18th July with 149 male prisoners, all in good health, one having died on the voyage. She touched at the Cape of Good Hope. Surgeon Superintendent Dr. McMillon, R.N. The guard consisted of 31 men, 10 of whom belonged to the 48th and 21 regt., and 10 to the 30th regt, under the command of Lieut. A. Waddell of the 48th regt., Passengers Mr. Ford and Mr. Cawthorne and family,
