Details: Correspondence from Captain Moncrief to Frederick Goulburn - Sir, I have the honor to request that you will procure from His Excellency the Governor permission for Mr. George Porter to remain as a resident in this colony. Mr. Porter who came out with me in the ship Commodore Hayes is a young man of good character and respectability and who if favoured with His Excellency s authority to stay will be immediately admitted by John Oxley Esq., as his agricultural steward.
