They arrived yesterday per the Brig Eagle from Bengal and sentences of transportation namely - Herbert Stiles for life; James Ahern for life; and Hugh Maclean for seven years

Correspondence from Commandant at Newcastle - I beg leave to state for the information of His Excellency the Governor that the undermentioned prisoners Edward Scarr, Joseph Burridge, Herbert Styles and John Pierce all of whom are sailors, effect their escape from this settlement on the night of the 7 April about 11 o clock with a strong ebb tide and breeze from the NW in the sloop Speedwell
